Vintage fabrics, dishes and embroidery thrift store finds, by Susan Carlson of Felted Button | Colorful Crochet Patterns

::Old and New::

I went to the thrift store. I know. I know. You're thinking...AGAIN??! But it's one of the things my daughter and I love to do together. And here's a peek at some of the lovelies I purchased!

This amazing little embroidery does not have a frame, but for $2 I couldn't pass it up. My daughter joked that I could crochet one. Hmmmm. Might be possible...

I cannot imagine how long it took to make all of those french knots. I love the pink pathways, the blooming apple orchard, the pops of red, and the turbulent water. Very, very delightful!

Little snippets of fabric in very Cath Kidston-esque patterns and colors. I'll find a perfect purpose for the fabric, If not, I'll just enjoy running my hands over it and imagining the possibilities!

A sparkly mercury glass pot and some vintage Texas Ware in pastely goodness feed my "compulsive containerism". (It's true. I've got it.)

Oh, and I almost forgot these treasures--some vintage prints of the newest "Americanized" Paris fashions of 1856. I love them both. Although I am very grateful that we don't wear corsets, I long for a time where society was a bit more formal and less casual when out and about.

Last week I painted my front room a wonderful shade of pinkish purple. Oh, how delightful it feels in that room now. And I whitewashed the bookshelf and this little end table. I added some colorful button knobs and it's perfect for Sue. (Don't mind the hidden pink object--it is actually a pig with wings--you know, for WHEN PIGS FLY!)

Just a little peek at my soon-to-be-released pattern. I'm calling it Star Fruit

I had better get to work on the pattern write-up--so I'm off!! Happy Day!
By the way, I always have my patterns tested before I release them. If you are interested in becoming a tester, you will want to follow my Facebook page here, as that is where I make calls for testers.
