A Free Crochet Blanket Pattern for YOU!

The Citrus Stripe Blanket is my gift to you, because I am grateful for you! This blanket is perfect on so many levels.

Here are just a few reasons why I love it.

 It is:

Perfect for a beginner
Perfectly striped--who doesn't love stripes?
Perfectly drapey
Perfectly easy to adjust the size/dimensions
Perfectly simple--a pattern that doesn't 'strain the brain'
Perfectly speedy project for one you need by Christmas
Perfectly versatile color options--with more or fewer or NO stripes
Perfect for a gift for anyone

I decided to make it from these fruity, delightful colors because they make me happy. But you could make it in colors that are subdued and neutral, or match a nursery or bedroom.

It is made from sport/DK weight yarn. The specific yarns I used are from Hobby Lobby and outlined in the pattern. I decided to write up the pattern for you in PDF form so it is easy for you to print and take with you. Hop over to my Ravelry shop or Craftsy shop and download yourself a copy. You might want to pin it now so you don't forget about it later, too. Just hover over the picture and click. It will link you here!

I have not had this pattern tested, so please let me know if you find any errors.

I've been working frantically in the background on several other things, but my Design Wars project is FINISHED!! I can hardly wait for you to see it! Oh, wow! This has been so much fun so far. By the way, the Design Wars newsletter Issue 13 comes out tomorrow with more sneak peeks of the designs. If you haven't signed up yet, do here, because then you get to sneak your peek first! And you'll get the word when voting opens first, and you'll find out who wins first! (I like being first, don't you?)

Here's a little glimpse at something I've been working on when I just need the rhythm of crocheting without thinking--a simple linen stitch piece--maybe a cowl? It's making the most beautiful piece of colored fabric. I really love it. I'll share more details if/when I finish this one.

Join with me on Facebook here if you haven't. That way you'll be in the "Button Loop" on all of the Felted Button happenings.

  16. Thank you for sharing this! I just picked up crocheting and making this my first crochet blanket. One problem I run into is at row 6 I end up with more stiches then prev rows, any idea what I have done wrong?

    1. You are so welcome. Hmmm. I'm not certain, but remember, besides the 2 dc in the sc at the beginning and ending of the row, you should have a (dc, ch 1, dc) in each loop and a (dc, ch 1, dc) in each sc. I hope this helps.
