Can You Hear the Song of the Sea?

Introducing the SEA SONG BLANKET!!

Sea Song Blanket Crochet Pattern by Felted Button

Ohhhh...the colors, the texture, the waves!!! This one makes me pretty gleeful! I've never seen anything like it--well, except inside my head! ;)

The sample shown is a baby blanket, but
could be made in any size you want. I made this with Red Heart Unforgettable in the Candied colorway--a yarn I have really come to love--but it could be done in any colorway you choose! The yarn is washable acrylic and listed as a worsted weight medium (4) but actually works more like a DK or light worsted. It really is altogether lovely.

Remember the Painted Pixels Blanket

I made it with 7 different colorways of Unforgettable. See. Pretty yarn, huh?

And remember the Spring into Summer Blanket?  I also made that one with the Candied Unforgettable.

I might be a little obsessed, but it is wonderfully colored yarn! And I am all about color!

The Sea Song Blanket has the most incredible texture!! It seriously makes such a squishy and cozy blanket. And if you don't have access to Red Heart yarns in your area, any DK yarn with long color runs will be lovely. In fact, it could be pretty awesome done with solid color motifs from your stash! (Now I gotta try that, too!)

Made with join-as-you-go motifs it is my favorite kind of blanket!!
If you have never done a project with join-as-you-go motifs, and even if you have, this one is a bit different. But no worries as I provide lots of diagrams and pictures of the joining process. (You never need to print the picture section--just use as reference, if needed.)

  7. Olá amiga, passando para lhe deixar um carinho, e já estou te seguindo, beijokas

Amigo é coisa para se guardar Debaixo de sete chaves
    Dentro do coração
    amigo, eu volto
    A te encontrar
Qualquer dia, amigo, a gente vai se encontrar.

  9. Where can I find a good tutorial on join-as-you-go? I want to make sure I can do it before I buy the pattern. :O)

    1. The pattern includes a detailed photo-tutorial for extra help with join-as-you-go (JAYGO) if you have never tried it before. That section can be reviewed but then does not need to be printed in order to complete the written portion of the pattern. I think it's actually a great pattern to try for a newbie to the art of JAYGO!

  11. And to think that last night, right before "Hooking on Hump Day" over at Moogly and My Merry Messy Life, I placed a HUGE yarn order at two different online stores....and chose to bypass my several month long nagging itch to buy Red Heart Unforgettable in the Parrot colorway, simply because I hadn't seen many patterns that sis it justice besides a lovely Red Heart Shawl/Wrap that I feared was beyond my skill level! Plus, I wanted more than one colorway, but had no idea how they looked (other than Parrot) when a project was hooked! I even saw that "candied" colorway, and wanted it...but for what? Now, via your blanket being a top choice on Hookin on Hump Day, I arrive and projects showing how stunningly beautiful these colorways look in blankets! And I have my first grandchild, a boy, just 3 weeks old, that I have been searching for unique baby blanket patterns with the plan to have it ready by early fall! The texture in the waves/motifs of those lovely raised edges on each one would hold such interest for little fingers, and a huggy touchy soothing bedtime or fussy time blankie! I am so glad I ended up here! You have a unique, fresh, delightful design style and your use of color makes me want to sit and stare at each picture and project for hours. I too am a nut for color. I may even be certifiably crazy for color! Wow! I think I'm about to spend some more money on yarn....and patterns, of course. You are a rock star in crochet!
